Radix Cup MatchesIn 1962, Harry E. Radix started the Radix Cup Matches to promote competition between professionals and amateurs in the state of Illinois and left a bequest when he died in 1965 to continue the event. Each year, 12 professionals are selected by the Illinois Section PGA to face off against 12 CDGA amateurs in match play. Every match is played in a three-point Nassau basis, with each pair's better ball scored on each hole. Today, the Radix Cup is one of the highlights of the tournament season and has become very competitive. After more than 50 years of historic battles, the IPGA Professionals hold a 37-22-2 all-time lead in the series.
