These procedures were created on the guidance of international, national, and local health organizations and administrations, as well as the Golf Operational Restrictions set by the State of Illinois and Back2Golf. All procedures and policies set forth in conducting our events shall be subject to change should restrictions be lifted or modified.

It is expected that all participants adhere to the guidelines in place at each event. The CDGA will monitor compliance. Failure to comply with guidelines may result in Disqualification and removal from the event. Please be respectful of everyone’s personal space.
COVID-19 MASK MANDATE:
The CDGA has removed all mask mandates for CDGA conducted Championships and Social Events.
It is expected that all participants be respectful of any facility COVID requirements and the facility staff/CDGA staff who are required to implement these policies. The CDGA will try to inform players in advance of any COVID restrictions that might be in place for the day. Any behavior that is deemed to be disrespectful to facility staff or CDGA staff will be considered a breach of the CDGA’s Code of Conduct and may result in Disqualification.
ILLNESS OR COVID-19 RELATED
Individual Events – If a player is feeling ill or has been exposed to someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 within 5 days of the event start date, we ask that you withdraw.
Partner/Team Events – If a player is feeling ill or has been exposed to someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 within 5 days of the event start date, the partners should work together to find replacement players or play by themselves.
Partner changes at Social Events or Qualifiers will be accepted up until your tee time. The CDGA will not find replacements.
Partner changes at the Championship will not be allowed after Qualifying.
If a participant tests positive with COVID-19 shortly after an event, they should inform the CDGA.
If a CDGA staff member tests positive for COVID-19, it could result in a suspension of the event schedule until we can guarantee that fellow staff members are in good health and can be onsite at future events.
WITHDRAWALS/REFUNDS
We understand that circumstances and safety concerns may change at any moment. The CDGA’s withdraw policy for all events is in effect, please contact the CDGA directly with COVID related withdraw concerns. Withdrawals must be sent via email to withdraw@cdga.org for Championships and socialwithdraw@cdga.org for Social Events.

These guidelines and procedures are subject to change and will be updated when needed. The CDGA will continue with many of the implemented procedures even though COVID restrictions have been modified.
PRIOR TO THE EVENT
The CDGA will continue with a paperless environment, even with the modified COVID restrictions.
Players will receive an email with their tee time and any relevant information 10-14 days prior to the event.
All tournament documents, including hole location sheets, notice to players, and Hard Card, will be posted electronically 1-3 days prior to the tournament. A player is encouraged to view and read these materials on their own before their round.
A phone number to be used for emergencies or rules questions on the course will be provided in the posted material. Please note that the number could change depending on the event.
The CDGA will offer tees and pencils. Players are responsible to bring any additional equipment as deemed necessary. This could include, yardage book, markers, ball markers, sunscreen, etc.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Clubhouse F&B – If food and beverage services are available at the host facility, players may order food.
If lunch is provided curtesy of the CDGA, it will be noted with the tee time information.
The Halfway House should be open, but if not available, the CDGA will encourage the host facility to stage a beverage cart as to provide easy access to any snacks, bottled water, or the like.
Golfers should bring an adequate supply of water for the round.
Water, Gatorade, and the like will be provided at the halfway house/beverage cart, courtesy of the CDGA. Players are limited to 1 drink at a time.
ARRIVAL
Practice Facilities – The practice facilities will be provided courtesy of the CDGA. Every player should have fair and equitable opportunity to warm up prior to play. Be respectful to fellow players when preparing to play and maintain social distancing if a fellow competitor makes the request.
GOLF CARTS
Dual-rider motorized golf carts are permitted. Only two carts per group will be allowed.
Push carts are permitted at all events.
This applies to Social Events, Partner Events, and Individual Events.
STARTING
Players should arrive at their starting tee immediately after the group in front of them has left the teeing area for a tee time event. If the event is a shotgun, follow the directions given at check in.
No paperwork such as Notice to Players, CDGA Hard Card, or Hole Locations will be available. All documents will be available in the CDGA Tournament App, or on CDGA.org through the link located next to the event.
Scorecards – Scorecards will NOT be provided. Players will be given access to the CDGA Tournament App. There will be one official scorer per group. All other players/teams will be able to use the marker feature within the app. If players want to utilize a paper scorecard for marking purposes only, they may do so, but will need to take a club scorecard.
For tee-time starts, a CDGA Staff/Official/Volunteer will stand at the starting tee to start players and make sure someone has volunteered as the official scorer. If the event is a shotgun, follow the directions given at check in/during the pre-event announcements.
Anyone in attendance at a CDGA event is encouraged to maintain social distancing. This means regardless of your position on the course or grounds maintain 3-6 feet of distance between you and anyone you engage with. Please be respectful of everyone’s personal space.

SCORING
After completing the round, ONE group will be allowed to enter the “scoring area” at a time.
All players (or one player per team in a team event) must report to the scoring area. Failure to report to the scoring area will result in Disqualification.
A player’s official electronic scorecard is considered returned and final after all players in the group have verbally agreed to the hole-by-hole scores while at the scoring table with the CDGA staff member. No signature is required.
Once the players exit the scoring area, no additional changes can be made.
Once scoring is finished, each player must leave the scoring area. (See playoffs below)
All Results will be online.
PLAYOFFS
Playoffs will be determined in two ways:
CDGA Championship - In the event a player is close to the lead or in contention for a qualifying spot, the player should remain at the course and close to the scoring area for announcements.
CDGA Social Events - Ties will be decided by matching scorecards, as recommended by the USGA Rules of Golf.
AWARDS
Awards ceremonies will be conducted at the Championships and Social Events using social distancing guidelines. It is encouraged that all players who win a trophy or gift certificate stay to accept their prize.
WEATHER DELAYS
In the event of a horn blast signaling a discontinuance of play for a dangerous situation, all players should proceed directly to their vehicles or indoors using social distancing guidelines.
Communication regarding resumption of play will be sent by email and/or text message.

Any caddie or spectator found to be in violation of any of these policies will be asked to vacate the primary golf property and return to their car. Extreme offenses may result in a permanent ban from CDGA events for both the caddie, spectator and the player.
GUIDELINES
Individual caddies are permitted at all CDGA conducted events.
Spectators are allowed to follow a group.
Spectators are discouraged from performing duties as a Caddie. If a spectator is found to be acting as a caddie, they and the player will be held accountable for all actions under the Rules of Golf.
Spectator carts are permitted based on the CDGA Spectator Cart Policy. Paperwork MUST be completed/submitted a minimum of 7-days prior to the event. All spectator carts must receive pre-approval. No spectator carts will be given on-site without prior approval. CLICK HERE to access the form.

Once the group the caddie is working with or a spectator is watching completes the final hole, the caddie and/or spectator is prohibited from entering the player scoring area.
Spectators are allowed to carry food, drink, and other items (umbrellas, outerwear, sunscreen, etc.) and permitted to give such objects to their player.
