Prairie Landing Golf Club and Boulder Ridge Country Club are set to host the CDGA's two Friends and Family Events in 2023.
The CDGA is proud to introduce the new Friends and Family Events on the 2023 Social Competitions schedule, which feature the inaugural CDGA Family Classic and CDGA Mixed Championship, both presented by Zero Friction. These events offer a unique opportunity for CDGA members to compete alongside close friends or relatives they’ve always wanted to team with at two fantastic facilities in the Chicago District. Inaugural CDGA Family Classic presented by Zero Friction July 10 • Prairie Landing Golf Club (West Chicago) New in 2023, CDGA members are now invited to team with relatives to be a part of history, as they compete in the Inaugural CDGA Family Classic presented by Zero Friction. The CDGA Family Classic is a 2-Person, 18-hole Chapman/Alternate Shot stroke-play event with prizes awarded in both gross and net divisions. Lunch, 18 holes of golf and a buffet dinner is included for all contestants. Teams will compete for a wide array of on-course prizes from CDGA partner Zero Friction.
Teams may be made up of any two CDGA members (of legal or blood relation) at least 21 years of age. Men and women with a valid USGA Handicap Index® are welcome to participate.
52nd CDGA Mixed Championship presented by Zero Friction Sept. 21 • Boulder Ridge Country Club (Lake in the Hills) The CDGA Mixed Championship presented by Zero Friction is an annual stableford-scoring pairs competition. The event crowns two champion pairs each year--Low Gross and Low Net. Both champions from 1972 to 2004 had their names engraved on the William J. Pailey Trophy, while champions since 2005 have been commemorated on the Walker Cup Trophy.
Douglas and Lauren Meyer from Ivanhoe Club earned the overall gross crown, while Tom and Marsha Eder of Royal Melbourne Country Club claimed the net title at Rolling Green Country Club in 2022.
