WHEATON, Ill. – The second year of the CDGA Women's Senior Tour Edge Trifecta Series came to a close Wednesday at Arrowhead Golf Club. Competing in a two-person Net Better Ball format, the duo of Kathy Braun (Bartlett Hills GC) and Tracy Esposito (Makray Memorial GC) emerged victorious, tallying a total of nine net birdies along with two net eagles. A bogey on the back nine was the lone flaw for Braun and Esposito, turning in a scorecard of 12-under 64. Mary Ellen Martin (Village Links) and Nancy Carter (Village Links) carded a 2-over 74 on the day, earning overall low gross honors in the field.

In the Senior division (age 55-64), the team of Mark Baskiewicz (Big Run CC) and Thomas O'Dekirk (Village Greens of Woodridge) took top honors with a net better ball score of -11. The duo, who made the Championship off of the alternate list, carded seven net birdies and three net eagles on the afternoon to win by two strokes.

Among the Super Seniors (65 and up), the winning duo was Timothy Guimond (CDGA Member's Club) and Ray Reott (Harborside International Golf Center). The pair surged to a bogey-free 28 on the front nine, notching four net birdies and two net eagles. The back was more of the same, with just one blemish on the par-3 12th en route to a 13-under 59.

The field of finalists was determined by performances in three qualifiers held earlier in the summer, each using a different format. A season-long points list was formulated from results at Phillips Park Golf Course (net better ball), Cog Hill Golf & Country Club (net scramble) and Glenview Park Golf Club (net combined stableford). John Bock (Glenview Park GC) and Megan Bock (Glenview Park GC) and Nick Adams (CDGA Member’s Club) and Brian Wood (Deerfield GC) received recognition for finishing top on the Senior and Super Senior points lists, respectively.

In addition to the Tullymore trips, individuals also claimed prizes from the likes of Tour Edge, Zero Friction, SuperStroke, GolfForever and more.

With the men’s Senior and Super Senior seasons now complete, the women will take center stage at Arrowhead Golf Club on Thursday, Sept. 26.
