Founded by the Northern California Golf Association and headquartered in Pebble Beach, Youth on Course has expanded its reach to all 50 U.S. states and Canada. The organization subsidizes rounds for its age 6-18 members, ensuring that they can play for $5 or less.
Youth on Course pays participating courses the difference between the $5 and their respective junior rates, allowing youths access to the game and courses a full tee sheet, future players and increased revenue. Nationally, Youth on Course has subsidized nearly 1,000,000 rounds for its 100,000 members since its inception.
In its seventh season in the Chicago District in 2023, more than 6,000 youth golfers played nearly 19,000 affordable-access rounds at 60 local courses with their CDGA Youth Memberships through Youth on Course. CDGA Youth memberships for 2024 are now available.
The CDGA Foundation Scholarship, formerly under the administration of the Chicago Area Golf Swing Club, is awarded to disabled veterans or dependents of deceased or disabled veterans living or hospitalized in the Chicago District. Awards come in varying amounts and are given based on financial need, scholastic achievement, community service and personal goals.
In 2023, the CDGA also began a partnership with the Folds of Honor Foundation, an organization that provides life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled US service members and first responders, carrying on a longstanding tradition of utilizing golf to enhance the lives of our nation's heroes. The CDGA funded five individuals' Folds of Honor scholarships during the first year.
